Wis-Eau Claire 5, Carthage 4
KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage women's tennis team hosted the Wis-Eau Claire Blugolds on Sunday morning at Smeds Tennis Center. After a strong start for the Firebirds in doubles play, the Blugolds rallied late and came away with a 5-4 victory.

 

In doubles play, Xingchen Liu and Giovanna Mendes defeated Samantha Fuchs and Anna Lee 8-7 (7-4). Sasha Manojlovic and Marie Weis fell to Morgan Dekan and Sydney Presler 8-5. Beatriz Ferreira and Maddie Kearney earned an 8-4 win over Olivia Herzog and Tea Armstrong. The Firebirds led 2-1.

In singles play, Liu fell to Fuchs 6-4, 6-2. Weis was defeated by Lee 6-1, 6-1. Manojlovic defeated Dekan with a pair of 6-3 victories. Mendes fell to Presler with a pair of 6-1 defeats. Kearney fell to Herzog 6-1, 6-1. Ferreira defeated Armstrong 4-6, 7-5, (11-9).
