ORLANDO, Fla. – The Carthage women's tennis team faced off against the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets on Thursday morning. It was a dominant day for the Firebirds, as the team earned the shutout in their third consecutive win

 

In doubles play, Xingchen Liu and Giovanna Mendes earned an 8-4 victory over Gabriella Heideman and Kierstyn Yates. Marie Weis and Sasha Manojlovic beat Colleen Anderson and Emma Trost 8-3. Maddie Kearney and Beatriz Ferreira cruised past Olivia Koutouras and Aniya Qualls 8-1.

In singles play, Liu defeated Heideman 6-3, 6-2. Weis was victorious over Yates with a 6-3, 6-1 final. Manojlovic earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Anderson. Mendes bested Koutouras with a pair of 6-2 victories. Kearney cruised past Trost 6-0, 6-2. Larissa Ishikawa completed the shutout with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Gillian Brown.
