Carthage 7, Lake Forest 2
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Carthage women's tennis team faced off against the Lake Forest Foresters on Sunday evening. It was another successful outing for the Firebirds, as they came away with a strong 7-2 victory on the road.

 

In doubles play, Xingchen Liu and Giovanna Mendes defeated Margaret Bugnacki and Sara Lopez 8-3. Marie Weis and Sasha Manojlovic earned an 8-5 victory over Kate Feist and Rebecca Daskal. Maddie Kearney and Beatriz Ferreira defeated Anika Kinnear and Emily Bross 8-2.

In singles play, Liu defeated Bugnacki 7-5, 7-6 (7-4). Weis fell to Lopez 6-3, 6-2. Manojlovic came up short against Feist, losing a close battle 0-6, 6-1, (10-7). Mendes earned a 2-6, 6-4, (10-5) victory over Daskal. Kearney defeated Kinnear 6-0, 6-1. Ferreira earned the win over Bross with a pair of 6-0 shutouts.
