Carthage 5, Augustana 4
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Carthage men's tennis team closed out the weekend with a match against the Augustana Vikings at the Lincoln Park Tennis Courts. The Firebirds jumped out to an early lead during doubles play, and held on the rest of the way to earn the win.

 

In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krzewinski fell to Arthur Hermange and David Larraga 8-7 (7-4). Francisco Silveira and Cooper Ferruzzi defeated Gabriel Luna and Tim Philip 8-3. Diego Silva and Luca Okino defeated Saman Rezaeyan and Nicolas Navarro 8-7 (7-4). The Firebirds led 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play.

In singles play, Silveira fell to Hermange 6-3, 6-4. Krzewinski earned the win over Larraga with a 6-4, 4-6, (6-1) performance. Briand defeated Luna 6-1, 6-2. Ferruzzi defeated Rezaeyan 6-3, 7-6 (11-9). Victor Pimenta fell to Philip 6-4, 6-1. Okino fell to Navarro 6-3, 0-6, 6-2.
