ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Carthage men's tennis team opened the 2024 portion of their schedule on the road against the Carleton Knights on Saturday afternoon. It was a strong start for the Firebirds, who came away with a convincing 7-2 win to kick off the spring schedule.

 
 
In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krzewinski teamed up to defeat the Knights 8-3. Francisco Silveira and Cooper Ferruzzi took the match over their opponents 8-4. Luca Okino and Diego Silva took the third doubles match 8-4 to give the Firebirds a 3-0 lead.

In singles play, Silveira defeated Yuv Kataria 6-2, 6-4. Krzewinski won a tight battle against Baiyun Jing 4-6, 7-5, (10-6). Briand brought home the victory over Cooper Kline with a 6-2, 7-5 win. Silva fell to Jasper Yang 7-6 (8), 1-6, (8-10). Victor Pimenta got the win over Jack Rivkin 6-2, 6-3. Cyriac Cayuela came up short against Jerome Yang 4-6, 1-6.
