St. Mary's 5, Carthage 4
ST. JOES, MICH. – The Carthage women's tennis team faced off against the St. Mary's Bellas. In a hard fought battle, the Firebirds came up short and fell to the Bellas 5-4.

 
 
In doubles play, Xingchen Liu and Giovanna Mendes earned an 8-0 victory over Alayna Campbell and Evelyn Demblans-Dechans. Marie Weis and Sasha Manojlovic fell to Emma Kealy and Anna Gardner 8-4. Maddie Kearney and Victoria Rizzo earned the win with a 8-6 victory over Hannah Gerner and Grace Clearwater. The Firebirds ended doubles play with a 2-1 lead.

In singles play, Liu earned a 6-1, 6-0 over Campbell. Weis fell to Kealy 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. Manojlovic was defeated by Demblans-Dechans 6-3, 6-3. Mendes dropped a hard-fought battle against Gardner 4-6, 6-4, (6-3). Kearney earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Katie Hunter. Rizzo fell to Gerner 6-1, 6-3.
