"I'm grateful for these first 15 seasons at Carthage, where we've worked to the first, second, and third CCIW Championship titles in program history for women's swimming and diving," commented
Beth DeLaRosby. "I look forward to continuing to build on the successes our men's and women's programs have enjoyed in recent years, both inside and outside the pool. I wish to express my thanks to
Ryan Kane,
Seth Weidmann, the assistant coaching staff, and the athletic training staff. Developing programs of excellence requires talent and dedication from many individuals, and I'm excited for what's to come."
Seth Weidmann concluded his ninth season as the head men's swim and diving coach in 2022-23. Coach Weidmann is a six-time College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year, and his teams won five-straight CCIW Championships in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. Collectively, the teams have been recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team every semester since Weidmann's arrival in 2014.Â
"I look forward to working more closely with Seth," said Kane. "He has been diligent in leading the department's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and his work within the Kenosha and campus community is an instrumental part of our department. I'm excited to see him grow, taking on this new role."
An active member of the Carthage community, Weidmann currently serves as Assistant Athletic Director and as the department's NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID). His administrative roles keep him closely connected to the Center for Student Success, Office of Equity & Inclusion, and Aspire Program. Weidmann adds the Associate Athletic Director of Advancement role, which will see him tasked with cultivating relationships with donors and corporate partners to ensure the athletic department continues to elevate the student-athlete experience through these philanthropic relationships.
"There are few places like Carthage and Kenosha that can foster such fulfilling work with student-athletes, colleagues, and community members," added
Seth Weidmann. "I feel fortunate to be in a position to contribute to the inspiring work happening here. It's easy to thank
Beth DeLaRosby for always keeping an eye on what our swimming & diving program can do to be first-class in every way. Additional thanks to
Ryan Kane for guiding our athletic department in an exciting direction. I can't wait to assist Ryan in helping Firebird Athletics reach new heights and to continue the great work that Beth and I have been able to do over the years."
