Coach's Remarks

"We started off the outdoor season on a high note in many event groups today," proudly remarked Carthage College head women's track and field coach Stephanie Domin

"Sprints was led by first-year student Anna Kegel with her third-place finish in the 100m and junior Sarah Kerfin's fourth-place finish in the 200m."

"We had two jump events tap into the Carthage all-time performance list; sophomore Abbey Calhoun jumped 11-5.75 in the pole vault - placing her fourth all-time - while first-year jumper Christina Hall was third in the long jump with a lifetime best jump of 17-11.75 - placing her eighth on the all-time list."

"The Smith sister duo led the distance group with lifetime best in their events. Senior Katelyn Smith had an amazing debut in the 10k, winning the event in 38:07.50. This puts her second on the Carthage all-time list. Sophomore Kylie Smith won the 5k in 18:22.95, placing her fourth on the all-time list."

"Our throws group was led by Aubrey Schoeneman winning the shot put and placing third in discus. Nicole Tarpley won the hammer in 156-8, placing her tenth on the all-time list."

"We are off to a strong start for the outdoor season but need more work in areas to reach our final goals at the end of the season."
