Win Streak Pushed to Three as Firebirds Down Millikin in Tremendous Road Victory

DECATUR, Ill. - The Carthage Firebirds men's tennis team has played tremendous tennis over the last week, extending its conference win streak to three after taking down the Big Blue on the road this evening. Carthage's players have now won 26 of their last 27 matches, with Carthage sweeping Carroll (Wis.) and Elmhurst before dispatching Millikin 8-1.

Senior Yanozie Amadike now sits just two wins away (singles and doubles combined) from 100 career victories, and can reach the prestigious mark tomorrow against Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington. Amadike's coach, Brady Lindsley, can win his 800th career dual match as Carthage's head men's and women's tennis coach if the Firebirds can defeat Illinois Wesleyan and push their win streak to four.

Five Firebirds currently own win streaks of four or more in singles, including Francisco Silveira (five), Marco Czosnyka (six), Hayden Friese (four), Miles Whelan (four), and Myles Krzewinski (six).
