* All-Conference
"We came up a little short on our team goal at the CCIW championship this past weekend," said Carthage head women's track & field coach
Stephanie Domin. "Friday night we had some missed opportunities which hurt us in the end. We did, however, bounce back after a slow start and put together a great day two of the championships."
"Our sprints group was lead by freshman
Anna Kegel who finished fifth in the 60-meter dash. To compete at this level as a freshman is outstanding. I am looking forward to seeing Anna perform over the next four years."
"Sophomore
Kylie Smith led the distance group with two lifetime PRs over the weekend. Kylie finished seventh in the 3000-meter run with a spectacular finish. Her time moves her up to third on the all-time Carthage top-ten list in this event. She just missed placing by finishing ninth in the 5000-meter run with a PR time of 18:47.43. This mark is sixth on the all-time Carthage list."
"Sophomore
Abbey Calhoun had a jam-packed weekend by scoring in three events and adding 15 points to our point total. Abbey was second in the triple jump, fourth in the pole vault with a lifetime best (seventh in program history), and she also finished seventh in the long jump. Freshman
Christina Hall placed second in the long jump - just narrowly being nudged out of first place."
"
Teagan Johnston placed eighth in the pentathlon on Friday and them came back on Saturday to place fifth in the high jump."Â
"Our throws squad scored the majority of our points this weekend. In the weight throw,
Hannah Lizano placed third,
Aubrey Schoeneman finished sixth with a lifetime-best throw, and
Alexis Mattox finished seventh."
"The throwers continued to perform well in the shot put by scoring 19 points.
Aubrey Schoeneman finish second with a lifetime-best mark of 13.95m,
Alyssa Gulsvig
finished fourth with a lifetime-best throw, Olivia Carel finished fifth,
Alexis Mattox finished seventh, and
Madison Payne finished ninth."Â
"We missed some missed opportunities on Friday and unfortunately we could not get those points back. We will have a short reset and we will be ready for the Outdoor CCIW Track & Field Championships in May."

 Â
- Indoor season is far from over despite the completion of the CCIW Championships; the Firebirds are set to host the Firebird Finale this Friday, March 3 beginning at 3 p.m.Â
