ST. PETER, Minn. – The Carthage men's tennis team traveled to Minnesota to compete in the 2023 ITA Regional. It was a strong weekend for the Firebirds, as several student-athletes came away with deep tournament runs

 
 
In singles play, Victor Pimenta opened the tournament with a match against UW-Whitewater's Andrew Dumbauld. Pimenta came away with a 6-2, 6-4 victory and advanced to the second round. His day would end with a second round defeat, falling to Gustavus Adolphus' Tyler Haddorff. 

Elios Briand received a bye in the opening round and met Alec Sargent in the second round. Briand dominated in the round with a 6-2, 6-1 victory and advanced to round three. In the next round, Briand met UW-Whitewater's Giovanni Vitali and defeated him 6-4, 3-6, 11-9. Briand's day came to a close in the round of 32, as he fell to Rafael Costa 6-3, 5-7, 10-7.

Myles Kraewinski also received a bye in the opening round and gave a strong performance in round two, where he defeated Payton Adkisson 6-1, 6-2. Krzewinski then faced UW-Eau Claire's Demitri Bush, defeating him 7-5, 6-4. The day would end in the next round for Krzewinski, as he was defeated 6-3, 7-5.

Luca Okino opened the tournament with a tight 7-5, 7-6 win over Ali Derbani. Okino would then fall in the second round with a 6-2, 6-3 defeat.

Diego Silva came away with a swift 6-2, 6-1 victory over Marjan Veldic in his opening round match, before falling in the second round 6-2, 6-4.

Cooper Ferruzzi won a tight opener against Geoffrey Youngs by a score of 7-5, 7-5. He would then fall in the second round to Reuben Giorgio.

Francisco Silveira received a bye in the opening round before advancing to the third round with a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Andres Saavedra. The third round featured a tight match against Taona Mhwandaraga, which Silveira claimed with a 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 victory. Silveira would then fall in another tight match, which he fell 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.

Cyriac Cayuela opened his day with a 6-0, 6-1 performance over AJ Wilkins. He would then be defeated in the second round 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles play, Silva and Silveira teamed up to defeat a UW-Whitewater duo 8-2. They then won a tight 8-7 match against a Coe team to advance to the third round, where they would fall 8-6.

Krzewinski and Briand dominated in their opening round with an 8-0 victory. Another win over a Loras duo would propel them into the third round, where they would fall 8-5.

Ferruzzi and Okina earned an 8-6 victory over a Coe duo before falling in the second round 8-3.
