GENEVA, Ohio — Day two of the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships saw Carthage's Liv Carel place 16th in the women's shot put on Friday, finishing among the nation's best in the event at the Spire Sports Complex.

"We are very proud of Liv's track and field season," said head coach Stephanie Domin. "She is a true competitor and such a coachable athlete. I am sure we will continue to see big things from her over the next three years."

Hitting 12.01 meters on her first attempt, the freshman from St. Michael, Minn. posted a mark of 13.27 meters on throw number three to jump up three spots on the leaderboard and take 16th place at the national meet.

The Firebirds will close out the NCAA Championships tomorrow, May 28, when Alexis Mattox competes in the women's hammer beginning at 10 a.m. CT.
