JOLIET, Ill. — As the 2022 outdoor season winds down, the Carthage women's track and field team sent a few throwers down to the Saint Francis Francis Fighting Chance Invite on Saturday. The Firebirds will wrap up their 2022 regular season schedule next Thursday, May 19 at the Augustana Midwest Twilight.

"The Firebirds had an impressive three days of competition at North Central and St. Francis. Grace had an amazing race, putting her in a great position for NCAA qualifying and top-three all-time. Teresa and Sarah continue to impress in the sprinting events. Aubrey and Alyssa had big personal best marks in the shot put."
 

Highlights

• In the shot put, Aubrey Schoeneman set a new PR with a throw of 13.30 meters to take fifth place, making her the eighth all-time in school history in the event.
• Schoeneman then put up a stellar performance in the discus throw, setting a second personal-best on the day with a throw of 41.36 meters to take first place.
• Nicole Tarpley took sixth place in the discus as well, throwing 39 meters even.
