KENOSHA, Wis. — Women's tennis picked up their eighth win of the year against The University of Concordia-Wisconsin this Sunday afternoon, defeating the visiting team 6-3 as they hosted at Smeds Tennis Center.

The Firebirds' win began on doubles court one, where Giana Apostoli and Sam Ramsey paired up to grab an 8-2 win for the team. Courts two and three would fall to Concordia as the match headed into singles action.

Ramsey opened on court two with another win on the day, finishing 6-2, 6-5 to even the match at 2-2. After a court three loss, Sierra Sonnemaker took court four 6-3, 6-2, followed by Apostoli 6-2, 6-3 on court one. Giovanna Mendes and Maddie Kearney would close out the match with back to back wins on courts five (6-4, 6-3) and six (6-3, 6-3) respectively to give Carthage the 6-3 win over the Falcons.

This coming Friday, April 29th Carthage will host Milwaukee School of Engineering in what will be their last regular season match of the year. The match will begin at 4:00 PM at Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
