LISLE, Ill. — The #10 Carthage college men's tennis team fell 6-3 this Friday afternoon to #9 North Central College on the road. The Firebirds now sit at a 20-2 record on the year (4-1 conf.).
Doubles courts three and two fell to the Cardinals to open the match, before #11 duo Daniel Moore and Yanozie Amadike battled with North Central's #6 ranked doubles pair of Vilarroig and Gonzalez. The match would swing 8-6 to the home team to give the Cardinals a 3-0 advantage heading into singles.
Courts four and five fell to North Central to open singles, before Myles Krzewinski won court three 5-7, 2-6. Yanozie Amadike followed on court two with a 2-6, 6-3, 7-10 win. After court one fell to North Central's Vilarroig (#14 Singles Central Region), Nick Marino would close out 5-7, 2-6 on court six to finish the match 6-3 in favor of North Central.
The Firebirds take on conference opponent Elmhurst University next Tuesday, April 26th in Elmhurst, Ill.
