ORLANDO, Fla. — The #39 Carthage college men's tennis team defeated both Bethel University and the University of Wisconsin-Superior this Wednesday afternoon in the second round of their Orlando matches to improve to 14-1 on the season.

Match 1: Bethel University 6-3

After a loss on court two in doubles, Daniel Moore and Yanozie Amadike grabbed a win on court number one for the Firebirds. Court three fell to the Royals as Carthage faced a 2-1 disadvantage heading into singles action.

Myles Krzewinski opened on court three with a 6-3, 6-1 win, followed by Yanozie Amadike (6-1, 6-3) on court two. Senior Daniel Moore won 6-3, 6-2 on court one and Tripp Schulte took court six 6-3, 3-1. After court five fell to the opposing Royals, Nicolas Welker would finish the match with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (6) victory on court number four to give Carthage the win at 6-3.

Match 2: UW-Superior 7-0

The Firebird's match began with singles courts first, as Cooper Ferruzzi opened with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep on court four. Nick Marino also swept his sets 6-0, 6-0 and was followed by a 6-1, 6-1 win by Amadike on court two. Schulte won 6-0, 6-0 on court six, Moore 6-1, 6-4 on court one, and Myles Krzewinski 6-2, 6-2 on court three.

Nick Marino and Hayden Friese grabbed the only doubles win of the match on court three 8-0. The other two courts did not finish.

This Friday the Firebirds have their last match in Orlando against Transylvania University at 9:00 AM ET, where they look to close out 5-0 for their spring trip.
