Men’s Tennis Defeats No. 24 Carleton 5 - 4 on the Road

ROCHESTER, Minn. — It was another big day of competition for the Carthage men's tennis team, who bested the 24th-ranked Carleton College Knights 5-4 on the road this Sunday afternoon to improve to 8-0 overall on the year.

Daniel Moore and Yanozie Amadike opened the match on court no. 1 with an 8-5 win. Andre Antreassian and Cooper Ferruzzi followed with an 8-7 (7-3) win, before court three fell to the opposing team.

Nicolas Welker defeated his Carleton partner 6-0, 6-1 to open singles on court no. 4 before Amadike claimed court two 6-1, 6-4. After courts no. 3 and 6 fell to Carleton, the final match of the day would be decided by Ferruzzi on court five, who clutched a tough 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 10-8 win over the Knights.

The Firebirds play Wisconsin-Whitewater next Saturday, February 26 at the Lake Geneva Tennis Club in Lake Geneva, Wis.
