White Shatters Two School Records; Throwers Partake in Titan Challenge in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Reigning College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track & Field men's field student-athlete of the week, Joseph White, broke two school records for the Carthage College men's team on Saturday at the Titan Challenge hosted by Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

White, from Kenosha, Wis., threw 17.20m in the shot put event and 20.77m in the weight throw for the Firebirds on the day. The weight mark is seventh all-time in Division III history.

"The small group of throwers we took to this meet did an amazing job ending our fall training on a high note," commented assistant track and field coach Greg Raimondi.

"On the mens side, the highlight continues to showcase the potential of Joseph white breaking both school records. His weight throw now sits seventh all time in Division III history. Lucas Leal had another great weekend PR'ing in both events.

I am excited for the potential of our throws group if this is the success we are having in December. I'm looking forward to starting back up already as the group heads home this week after finals for winter break."
