ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — In their opening match at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Tennis Tournament, Carthage fell to Augustana 5-1 on Tuesday at the Lower Campus Courts.

The Vikings (9-5, 6-2 CCIW) picked up wins in doubles to begin the match at courts two and three, before Rachel Anderson and Sam Ramsey picked up a strong 8-7 victory at the lead court. However, Carthage (4-7, 3-5 CCIW) was unable to get the necessary wins in singles play, as Augustana won the first three matches to finish, clinching the loss for the Firebirds.
