KENOSHA, Wis. — In a doubleheader with conference opponent North Central College, the Carthage College women's tennis team dropped their last regular season match of the year 9-0, before the men's team would fall to the Cardinals 5-4 as well.

The women's team began the day by dropping all three doubles courts. The visiting team would also take the remaining courts in singles play, claiming the 9-0 victory over Carthage for the match.

Nicolas Welker and Matt Krzewinski kicked things off for the men's team with an 8-5 win on court one to begin doubles play. The duo of Andre Antreassian and Tripp Schulte would follow suit, and grab an 8-6 win of their own on court three, before court two would fall to North Central.

Singles play would start on court four, where Cooper Ferruzzi picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over his opponent to give Carthage a 3-1 lead in the match. The next four courts would fall to the opposing team, however. The match would end on court six as Chris Mitev picked up a 4-6, 6-0, 7-6 tiebreaker win, but the Firebirds would end up dropping the match 5-4.

The women begin the CCIW Women's Tennis Championship on Tuesday, April 27th, while the men's team has one regular season match remaining against Elmhurst University on Saturday, May 1st at home.
