WAUKESHA, Wis. — The Carthage women's tennis team fell 6-3 on the road against CCIW opponent Carroll University this Friday in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The Firebird's record is even at 4-4 overall, and 3-3 in conference action.

Carthage began doubles play with losses on courts three and two, but bounced back on court one with an 8-6 win from Sam Ramsey and Rachel Anderson.

The home team also won the first two courts in singles action, but the Firebirds grabbed court three after Sierra Sonnemaker won her sets 7-5, 6-2. Carthage would go on to drop courts one and two, but senior Faelan O'Shaughnessy would pick up the last court of the day with her 7-6 (2), 5-7, 1-0 (10) tiebreaker win on court four.

This Sunday, Carthage takes on Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois in another conference match. The Firebirds have just two games remaining in the regular season before the CCIW women's tennis tournament play begins.
