HANOVER PARK, IL. — The Carthage women's tennis team finished their seventh dual match of the season with an 8-1 win against CCIW competitor North Park University. Carthage is now 4-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The match began with an 8-1 win on court two in doubles play courtesy of Sierra Sonnemaker and Faelan O'Shaughnessy. Kenna Beth and Emily Krysinski won 8-2 on court three as well, while Sam Ramsey and Rachel Anderson closed out court one with an 8-2 win.

The Firebirds won the first five courts in singles play, beginning with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep on court five from freshman Stephanie Yerges. Faelan O'Shaughnessy added to her win column for the day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory on court four, followed by another 6-0, 6-0 sweep on court one from Sam Ramsey. Sierra Sonnemaker picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win on court three, and Cailida Werner grabbed Carthage's last win of the day on court six 7-5, 6-2. The match ended with court two falling to North Park, and a final of 8-1 in favor of the Firebirds.

Carthage is back in action Friday, April 16th as they take on Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
