Swim and Dive Team Finish Day One of Calvin Quad Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Carthage College women's swimming and diving team completed the first day of the Calvin Quad Invitational on Friday.

The Firebirds came away with five top-five finishes on the day as the relay team of Maria Gutzweiler, Kaitlyn Fogo, Jordyn Bloode and Izzy Bertaud placed third in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Bloode, Fogo, Allison Vassilakos, and Gutzweiler later clocked a third-place time of 4:08.49 in the 400-yard medley relay.

Individually, Vassilakos and Bloode went first and second in the 500-yard freestyle while Kaycee Siears took fourth in the three-meter diving event with a score of 165.85.

Carthage wraps up the Calvin Quad Invitational on Saturday, November 6.
