NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Carthage women's tennis team fell 8-1 on the road this Saturday in a tough matchup against conference opponent North Central. Today's match capped off the Firebird's regular season conference record at 5 - 3, with the CCIW Championship beginning this coming week.

After facing two losses on courts no. 1 & 2 in doubles play to begin the match, Carthage would gain their one win of the day as Sam Ramsey and Sierra Sonnemaker took control of court three 8-5 over their North Central opponents. 

All six singles courts would fall to the opposing Cardinals squad, with the match ultimately ending 8-1 in favor of North Central.

The CCIW Tournament kicks off tomorrow, October 17th to determine placement for the higher seeds. The first day of competition for the Championship is set for Thursday, October 21st and will conclude on the 23rd.
