KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College women's swimming and diving team came in first at the Wisconsin Private College Championships with a team score of 273.50 Saturday at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center.
The Lady Reds were led by Mackinzee Macho,
Becca Rutkowski and
Jordyn Bloode who each came away with two first place victories. Macho recorded times of 5:36.22 and 1:00.53 in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard fly while Rutkowski clocked times of 24.58 and 54.20 in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events respectively. Bloode placed first with a personal-best 2:15.09 in the 200-yard individual medley while taking first in the 1650-yard freestyle.
Meghan Koterba won the 200-yard freestyle,
Jordyn Kaplan took the 200-yard breaststroke clocking a personal-best 2:40.39 while
Maddie Orgill placed first in the 400-yard individual medley for Carthage.
In relay events, the team of DeAnn Jones,
Gianna McGuire, Bloode and Kaplan won with a time of 1:51.27 in the 200-yard medley relay. Swimmers
Emily Wright, Jones, McGuire and Rutkowski registered first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Trisha Garcia won the one-meter diving event scoring a 469.55 on the day.
Carthage will be back in action on Friday, January 31 at Hope with a 5 p.m. start time.
