KENOSHA, WIS.—The 2019 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament is upon the Carthage College softball team (26-14, 10-6 CCIW), who will embark on the UW-Whitewater Regional on May 10-12 in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The Lady Reds will be making their fifth NCAA Division III Softball Tournament appearance in team history, and their first since 2013. Other NCAA Tournament appearances occurred in 1998, 2010 and 2012. Carthage owns a 7-8 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament.

ABOUT COE COLLEGE (32-9, 11-5 American Rivers)

The Lady Reds own a 2-1 all-time record against the Kohawks. The last meeting resulted in 1-0 and 14-6 victories for Carthage on March 21, 2010. The first meeting occurred on March 18, 2001, where Carthage dropped a 3-1 decision.

Like the Lady Reds, Coe earned an at-large bid into the tournament after a 3-0 loss to Central College in the 2019 American Rivers Conference Tournament on May 4. Diane Meyer (140-60) is in her fifth season as Coe head softball coach.

ABOUT UW-WHITEWATER (26-12, 11-3 WIAC)

Carthage's 6-26 all-time mark against the Warhawks includes 10-6 and 4-0 (8 Innings) losses at home on April 25 of this season. The Lady Reds have faced UW-Whitewater each of the last six seasons before a 12-year hiatus without competing against each other. Three of Carthage's five NCAA Tournament appearances took place at UW-Whitewater (2010, 2013, 2019).

The Warhawks earned their way into the 2019 NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid after losses to UW-Oshkosh (7-2) and UW-La Crosse (8-7) in the 2019 WIAC Tournament. Brenda Volk (649-262) is in her 21
st season as UW-Whitewater head softball coach.

ABOUT EUREKA COLLEGE (27-6, 14-4 SLIAC)

The Lady Reds and Eureka have never faced each other on the softball diamond. The Red Devils earned a spot into the 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament as an automatic bid after they took down Spalding University 11-3 in the 2019 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament Championship Game. Debi Neff (152-95) is in her seventh season as Eureka head softball coach.
WHAT'S NEXT
The UW-Whitewater regional winner will face the winner of the Illinois Wesleyan University regional in a best-of-three NCAA Division III Super Regional on May 17-18 at a site to be determined.Â
