GENEVA, OHIO.—Three members of the Carthage College track & field teams embarked on day one of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship at the Spire Sports Complex in Geneva, Ohio on Thursday, the same facility that resulted in the Lady Reds' program-best third-place team finish in 2017.
Aaron Austin represented the Red Men in the discus, while
Sarah Schmidt and
Elizabeth Willis competed in the discus for the Lady Reds.

Schmidt couldn't crack the finals flight as she registered a mark of 40.62m on her second attempt, sandwiched between fouls en route to 15
th place. Willis peaked at 39.96m on her opening toss, which put her in 16
th place.

Austin was the lone Red Men representative at nationals, where he registered a 15
th-place mark of 46.31m in the discus on his second attempt sandwiched between fouls.

Schmidt and Willis will compete in the shot put tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. (ET). The Red Men officially conclude their 2019 campaign and bid farewell to seniors
