KENOSHA, WIS.—Three members of the Carthage College men's and women's track & field team secured a spot into the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship Field, set to take place at the Spire Sports Complex in Geneva, Ohio on Thursday, May 23 – Saturday, May 25. Aaron Austin (Discus) will represent the Red Men while Sarah Schmidt (shot put, discus, hammer) and Elizabeth Willis (shot put, discus, hammer) qualified for the Lady Reds.
 
Austin will enter the outdoor national meet ranked 18^th in the discus with a 50.35m that was achieved at the Augustana College Meet of Champions on April 18. The sophomore from Chicago will embark on his first outdoor national meet on the heels of winning the 2019 CCIW Outdoor Discus Championship with a 48.22m. Austin also claimed the 2019 CCIW Outdoor Shot Put Championship with a 15.08m.
 
Schmidt will embark on her third-straight outdoor national meet. She's now qualified three times in the discus, twice in the shot put, and twice in the hammer at outdoor nationals. Schmidt claimed All-American status with her seventh-place toss of 13.94m in the shot put at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship. Schmidt currently ranks eighth in the shot put with her toss of 14.29m at the Augustana Twilight on May 16, 13^th in the discus with her 45.18m at the Augustana Meet of Champions on April 18, and 18^th in the hammer with a 52.51m at the Augustana Meet of Champions on April 18.
 
Willis will enter her second outdoor national meet after she took 11^th place in the shot put (13.39m) last season. She will qualify for the discus and hammer for the first time in 2019. Willis will enter the 2019 outdoor national meet ranked sixth in the discus with a 46.51m at the Augustana Invitational on April 18, seventh in the shot put with a 14.30m at the Augustana Invitational on April 18 and 10^th in the hammer with a 53.42m at the Carroll Open on April 13.
