Red Men and Lady Reds Finish Final Tune-Up For Nationals

AUGUSTANA TWILIGHT QUALIFIER RESULTS
 
KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's and women's track & field teams embarked on a final tune-up for the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship as select athletes competed at the North Central College (Ill.) Gregory Invitational in Naperville, Illinois, and the Augustana Twilight in Rock Island, Illinois on Thursday.
 
Tyrani White commanded the Lady Reds at North Central with a second-place leap of 1.58m in the high jump, followed by Aubrey Tesch's seventh-place mark of 1.53m. The pole vault was all Courtney Glassman, who cleared the bar at 3.38m en route to 10th place.
 
Camren Howard paced the Red Men at North Central as he crossed the finish line at 3:55.26 in the 1500 meter run, good enough for ninth place. The distance group continued to flourish as Logan Engberg clocked-in an 11th-place time of 14:57.33 in the 5000 meter run, followed by Suneed Ahmed (34th place, 15:53.31), Trevor Tomich (48th place, 16:31.85) and Zakry Schwartz (56th place, 16:58.95). The 100 meter hurdles saw Alassane Guisse claim 15th place with a 16.65, while Connor Bell settled for 16th place with a 16.94.

The Augustana Twilight Qualifier resulted in many solid marks, led by Sarah Schmidt's first-place and career-best toss of 14.29m in the shot put, followed by Elizabeth Willis's second-place mark of 13.96m. Willis notched second place in the discus with a 43.55m, and a fourth-place toss of 51.74m in the hammer. Aaron Austin registered third place in the hammer for the Red Men with a 57.14m, followed by Greg Raimondi's fourth-place toss of 55.94m. 
 
The Red Men and Lady Reds will await individual selections into the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship via press release set to be posted on www.ncaa.com on Saturday, May 18 at 9:00 a.m. (ET). The three-day meet will take place on Thursday, May 23 - Saturday, May 25 at the Spire Sports Complex in Geneva, Ohio.
