DECATUR, ILL.—The Carthage College men's tennis team embarked on their first true road match of the 2019 season on Friday when they squared off against Millikin University at the Fairview Tennis Center in Decatur, Illinois. The Red Men dropped a 5-4 decision to the Big Blue, which came down to the final match with the score tied 4-4.
The Red Men fall to 12-5, 1-1 CCIW while Millikin ups their record to 9-3, 2-0 CCIW.

Kevin Dunn came through victorious in the #3 slot with an 8-5 thrashing over Millikin's Holden Owens/Nick Laramee.
Millikin stretched their lead to 3-1 when
Daniel Moore dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Jacob Palley in #1 singles.
Andre Antreassian followed with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Greg Schwoeppe in #3 singles to narrow Carthage's margin to 3-2 before
Tripp Schulte's 6-3, 6-4 loss to Colin Sandgren in the #2 slot made the score 4-2. This sparked
John Nykyforuk's 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Logan Bennett (#4), and
Matt Krzewinski's 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 win over Holden Owens (#5) to tie the match 4-4.
The final match came down to the final point, where
Kevin Dunn was solid and fought hard in a 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5) loss to Nick Laramee in #6 singles, which clinched a 5-4 win for Millikin.
