Red Men Fall to Coe, Defeat Piedmont on Final Day in Florida

ORLANDO, FLA.—The final day of spring break had the Carthage College men's tennis team against Coe College in a rescheduled match from Tuesday, and Piedmont College at the Sanlando Tennis Center in Orlando, Florida on Friday. The Red Men dropped a 9-0 decision against Coe, and rebounded with a 7-2 victory over Piedmont College.
 
The split sends Carthage's record to 10-3. Coe improves to 9-5 while Piedmont drops to 4-1.

The closest match occurred in #1 doubles, where Daniel Moore/Andre Antreassian dropped an 8-4 decision to Josh Pudlo/Nate Greiner. The Red Men couldn't muster a victory in singles en route to a 9-0 loss. Daniel Moore kept things interesting in #1 singles, where he fell 7-5, 6-3 to Nate Greiner. Tripp Schulte registered a respectable performance in #2 singles, where he dropped 7-6, 6-1 decision against Rami Hemaidan.

Carthage jumped to a 2-1 lead after doubles, courtesy of victories from Daniel Moore/Andre Antreassian who defeated Kanler Cumbass/Jarrett Gray 8-2 in the #2 slot. Tripp Schulte/Matt Krzewinski tallied an 8-4 win over Andrew Chitty/Harrison LaBollita in #2 doubles.
 
Carthage was victorious in five-of-six singles slots, where Daniel Moore pummeled Kanler Cumbass 6-3, 6-0 in #1 singles. Tripp Schulte followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Harrison LaBollita in #2 singles. Kevin Dunn continued the victory train with a 6-1, 6-4 decision over Andrew Chitty in the #6 slot, followed by Matt Krzewinski's 6-1, 6-0 win over Houston Medlock in #4 singles. Andre Antreassian converted a 6-7, 6-0, 1-0 win over Jarrett Gray in #3 singles.

The Red Men will return to action on Saturday, March 16 when they'll face Milwaukee School of Engineering at the Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine, Wisconsin at 10:00 a.m.
