Roxbury, Mass. — Four members of the Carthage College Men's track and field competed at today's NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Massachusetts on Friday, March 8. Against all odds the men's 4x400 meter relay team made the cut to compete in the finals.
The 4x400 meter relay team consists of junior
Ronny Onano, sophomore
David Rogers, senior
Dane Rasmussen, and junior
Michael Schantek. All which came together to run a total of 3:18.926, good enough to hold the eighth spot and run again in the finals.
For contrast, this years men's 4x400 meter relay team are milliseconds away from beating the indoor school record which was previously set back in 2012 with a time of 3:18.41.
Onano, Rogers, Rasmussen, and Schantek first appearances at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship will truly be put to the test tomorrow, March 19 at 5:25 PM (ET) in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
