Lady Reds Dominate Raiders 9-0

RACINE, WIS.—The Carthage College women's tennis team's post spring break schedule commenced with a Saturday-afternoon bout against Milwaukee School of Engineering at the Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine, Wisconsin. The Lady Reds dominated all phases of the match in a 9-0 sweep over the Raiders.
 
The win gives Carthage a 7-5, 6-2 CCIW record while MSOE falls to 7-11, 6-4 NACC.

Angelica Emmanouil dominated for start-to-finish on Saturday, where she and #1 doubles partner Sam Ramsey kicked-off the day with an 8-0 victory over Hannah Marron/Sammy Soeder. Hannah Haeberle/Nia Pham kept things rolling for Carthage in #2 doubles with an 8-1 win over Katie Clements/Cierra Smith. Kira Mautone/Faelan O'Shaughnessy finished doubles with an 8-3 win over Leah Becker/Kim Baffin in the #3 slot.
 
Emmanouil capped her domination with a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Sammy Soeder in #1 singles. Nia Pham followed with a 6-1, 6-0 thrashing of Katie Clements in #3 singles, before Sam Ramsey converted a 6-1, 6-3 win over Hannah Marron in #2 singles. Things were interesting in the opening set of #4 singles, where Hannah Haeberle tallied a 7-5, 6-1 decision over Cierra Smith. Faelan O'Shaughnessy tallied a 6-1, 6-0 win over Olivia Boden in #6 singles, and Kira Mautone ended the day with a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Leah Becker in the #5 slot.
 
The Lady Reds will square-off against Wisconsin Lutheran College (9:00 a.m.) and St. Norbert College (4:00 p.m.) on Sunday, March 31 at the Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine, Wisconsin.
