KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's track & field squad embarked on the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge at the Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Saturday, where they mustered eighth place out of 14 teams with 11 points. The host Titans claimed the team championship with 154.50 points.
Leading the Red Men was Camren Howard, who posted a fourth-place time of 1:55.43 in the 800 meter run. Teammate Quade Kayle followed Howard with a 2:02.53 in the 800 meter run, good enough for 19th place. The one-mile run was all Peyton Heiser, who crossed the finish line at 4:41.78 to claim 21st place out of 42 finishers.
Dane Rasmussen paced the middle-distance runners in the 400 meter run, where he registered sixth place with a 51.01. Michael Schantek was also effective for the Red Men after he posted 15th place in the 200 meter dash with a 22.98.
Caleb Hays paced the Red Men in the shot put, where he registered a ninth-place toss of 14.87m. Aaron Austin followed Hays in 10th place with a 14.80m in the shot put. Aaron Austin commanded Carthage in the weight throw with an eighth-place mark of 16.44m.
The Red Men will compete in the 2019 CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday, February 22 – Saturday, February 23 at the Al B. Carius Track in Naperville, Illinois. Friday's events will begin at 1:00 p.m., and Saturday's festivities will kick-off at 10:30 a.m.
