KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College women's swimming and diving team finished session two and three of the Carthage College Classic with a combined score of 1,816 to hold first place Friday at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center.
The Lady Reds were led by Mackinzee Macho and
Jordyn Bloode. Macho recorded first place times in the 200-yard breaststroke with a personal best 2:30.56 along with a time of 1:01.71 in the 100-yard IM while Bloode took first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:15.04) and second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.34).
Macho and Bloode were also swimmers in the 400-yard medley relay that recorded first with Elise Merucci and
Becca Rutkowski collecting a time of 4:01.21.
Rutkowski placed second in the 100-yard freestyle and later swam in the 200-yard freestyle relay that clocked a first place time of 1:37.05 with swimmers Gianna McGuire, Emily Wright and DeAnn Jones.
Additional individual top-five finishes on the day came from Jones and McGuire taking third and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle respectively. In the 200-yard backstroke,
Grace Sakry and
Emma Roche went fourth and fifth while
Meghan Koterba recorded fourth in the 500-yard freestyle.
Allison Marsh and
Shae Taylor rounded out the individual events for Carthage going fourth and fifth in the 100-yard IM.
The Lady Reds return to the pool tomorrow with the final day of the Carthage College Classic on Saturday, December 7 beginning at 9 a.m.
