BROWN DEER, Wis. – The Carthage College women's swimming and diving team started the 2019-20 season with the 2019 All-Wisconsin Showcase at Schroeder Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon.

Leading the way for the Lady Reds was Jordyn Bloode who recorded first and third in the 500-yard and 200-yard freestyle with times of 5:17.34 and 1:58.25 respectively. Bloode also swam a peronsal best 2:12.55 in the 200-yard backstroke.

DeAnn Jones placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a clocked time of 24.64 and was a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that collected third with swimmers Gianna McGuire, Bloode, and Becca Rutkowski. 

In diving events, Trisha Garcia tallied fifth with a score of 209.70 in the three-meter diving event. 

Carthage stays on the road traveling to face Lake Forest on Saturday, October 26 starting at noon.

"I thought for the first meet of the season, we performed well. We had a slow start at the beginning of the meet, but as the meet progressed performances improved. Looking forward to the next meet."
