BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Carthage College women's tennis team picked up their fourth conference win of the season with an 8-1 defeat of Millikin Friday afternoon at the Evergreen Racquet Club.

In doubles, Giana Apostoli and Jen Patak were first to pick up a win for the Lady Reds (4-3, 4-3 CCIW) in an 8-3 match at court one. On court three, Nia Pham and Sierra Sonnemaker won their contest 8-1, with Sam Ramsey and Rachel Anderson picking up an 8-5 victory to make it a 3-0 match.

In singles, Sonnemaker swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at court six with Ptak clinching the match victory for Carthage at court two. Ramsey would win her sixth consecutive singles match at court three next, as Apostoli won as well at court one 6-2, 6-2. Millikin (5-7, 3-4) picked up a win at court four before Pham closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at court five.

Carthage will remain in Bloomington, Ill. and face Illinois Wesleyan tomorrow, October 12 at 10 a.m. at the Evergreen Racquet Club.
