THE GAMES

• The Carthage College men's basketball team (7-12, 2-8 CCIW) will look to halt their four-game losing skid at Elmhurst College (10-9, 5-5 CCIW) on Thursday, January 31 at 7:00 p.m. Illinois Wesleyan University (11-8, 4-6 CCIW) will invade Tarble Arena on Saturday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m.
• Sean Johnson, who eclipsed a single-season program record 65 blocks in an 81-64 loss to Wheaton on January 26, commands a Red Men defense that leads the CCIW and ranks 11th in the country with 5.2 blocks shots per game. Johnson's 66 blocks is fifth in the country while his 3.67 blocked shots per game is second among NCAA Division III players. 
• The Red Men defensive unit eyes an Elmhurst offense that ranks fourth in the CCIW with a 77.8 scoring offense that's commanded by Jake Rhodes' 22.4 points per game. Rhodes is a big-time playmaker on the defensive end of the floor as he sports a CCIW-leading 2.0 steals per game and 38 steals. 
• The Bluejays will enter Thursday's bout against Carthage off a 74-67 victory over Millikin that snapped a five-game losing skid. 
• The Illinois Wesleyan University Titans enter their home bout against Millikin on Thursday with the top offense in the CCIW with 82.2 points per game. Brady Rose makes up a majority of the Titans' offense with 21.6 points per game and a CCIW-leading .444 three-point field goal percentage. 
• The Titans kicked-off the 2018-19 season with a 7-0 record and a #10 ranking on the D3Hoops.com Poll, but have since gone 4-8.
• Leading the Illinois Wesleyan defense is Alex O'Neill, who ranks sixth in the CCIW with 19 blocks.
