Red Men Flourish at Tadd Metzger Invitational

KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's track & field team competed in their confines on Friday evening when they hosted the Tadd Metzger Invitational at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.
 
Dante Graham earned the podium's top spot in the 600 meter run after he crossed the finish line at 1:25.32. Juan Sanchez pulled down second place with a 1:25.42 in the 600 meter run. The Red Men followed that with a clean podium sweep in the 1000 meter run thanks to Camren Howard (2:39.25), Brandon Gray (2:41.73) and Quade Kayle (2:42.49). Logan Engberg kept the first-place trend going when he crossed the finish line at 8:54.16 in the 3000 meter run.
 
Michael Schantek and Dane Rasmussen highlighted the Red Men in the 400 meter run. Schantek squeezed his name into third place with a 51.37 while Rasmussen claimed fourth place with a 51.49.
 
Isaiah Brown powered the Red Men jumpers after he eclipsed a fifth-place leap of 6.53m in the long jump. Caleb Hays paced the Red Men throwers after he registered a fourth-place toss of 14.23m in the shot put. Nate Meador kept the fourth-place trend alive in the weight throw with a 14.95m. 
 
Connor Bell sits in second place out of five entries in the heptathlon with 2350 points after four events. The 55 meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meter run portion of the heptathlon will commence tomorrow morning.
 
The Red Men will return to action at the UW-Parkside Classic on Saturday, February 2 at 9:30 a.m.
