Lady Reds Cruise Past Vikings In Chicago On Saturday, 9-0

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Carthage College women's tennis team won their first dual match of the season on the road Saturday, defeating the Vikings of North Park University in Chicago, with a dominant 9-0 win.
 
The win moves the Lady Reds to 1-1 on the season and in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, while the Vikings drop their first match of the season to fall to 2-1 on the year and 0-1 in the CCIW.
 
The Lady Reds dropped just three sets in the opening doubles matches, as Angelica Emmanouil and Sam Ramsey won 8-0, Natalie Favia and Nia Pham won 8-2, and Maria Salerno and Hannah Haeberle won 8-1 in doubles one, two and three respectively.
 
Carthage carried over their dominance into the singles portion of the day, with the Lady Reds winning all six matches in straight-sets.  Picking up their second wins of the day were Emmanouil, Favia, Ramsey, Salerno and Pham in the one through five matches, while Faelan O'Shaughnessy got a win at six singles in her lone match of the day.

Next up for Carthage, the Lady Reds will remain on the road as they head to Carroll University on Thursday, September 13th.  First serve next week is set for 3:00 p.m.
