KENOSHA, WIS.--Kasey Kleiner has been named the Carthage College assistant women's basketball coach. She arrives to Carthage after one season as assistant women's basketball coach at Culver-Stockton College (NAIA).

"Kasey is a great addition to our staff," said Lady Reds head women's basketball coach Tim Bernero. "Having an alum with that extra sense of pride in the program is a plus. She was a key part of some excellent teams as a player and I expect she'll do the same as a coach."

Kleiner returns to the Lady Reds in 2018-19 after she began her coaching career with them as a graduate assistant during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. The Lady Reds registered a five-win improvement, and ranked among top-25 NCAA Division III teams in three-point field goal percentage throughout Kleiner's two seasons as graduate assistant.

Kleiner entered the coaching realm after a four-year playing career with the Lady Reds (2011-2015). She entrenched her name in the Lady Reds record book with a .403 career three-point field goal percentage (4th), .773 career free throw percentage (7th), 137 career three-point field goals made (7th) and 340 career three-point field goal attempts (9th). Kleiner earned a spot on the 2014-15 All-CCIW Third Team after she registered a career-best 9.2 points per game. She was a member of the 2012-13 and 2013-14 Lady Reds squads that won the CCIW Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Her freshman season in 2011-12 ended in the NCAA Division III Tournament Elite Eight while the 2013-14 campaign concluded in the NCAA Division III Tournament Sweet 16.

Kleiner obtained her bachelor's degree in exercise & sport science from Carthage College in 2015. She received her master's degree in leadership in teaching from Carthage College in 2017.
