KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College softball team (14-16, 4-4 CCIW) will end their 2018 regular season with a rare four-doubleheader week that begins at Wheaton College (Ill.) on Monday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. The Lady Reds will welcome Augustana College (DH) (Ill.) to the Carthage College Softball Field for their final home match on Tuesday, April 24 at 3:00 p.m. before they close against Carroll University (Wis.) (DH) on Thursday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m., and Illinois Wesleyan University (DH) on Saturday, April 28 at 3:00 p.m.

ABOUT WHEATON COLLEGE (ILL.) (7-25, 3-11 CCIW)

Wheaton's CCIW victories occurred over North Park (8-3), North Central (Ill.) (4-3) and Augustana College (6-5). Â The Thunder are led by Kelly Thornton's .467 (43-92) batting average, 17 doubles and four home runs. Morgan Ryan's .313 (31-99) mark rounds out the Wheaton .300+ sluggers. The Thunder pitching staff, led by Kendall Kehres and Kelly Thornton, sports a 5.79 ERA, 42 strikeouts and a .366 batting average over 202.0 innings of work.

The Vikings have three .400+ hitters in their lineup in Molly Wrenn (.470, 31-66), Haley Ruch (.420, 34-81) and Dina Falk (.414, 46-111). Alysaa Klahn, who owns a .312 batting average, ranks 11th in the country with 0.44 sacrifice hits per game. Augustana pitcher Kelcie Fredrickson sports a 2.37 ERA and 23 strikeouts over 68.0 innings pitched. Fredrickson ranks eighth among NCAA Divison III softball players with three saves this season.

Annika Graves paces the Pioneers lineup with a .395 (34-86) batting average along with three doubles. Four other Carroll players sport a .300+ average en route to a .287 mark as a team. It's the Pioneers' pitching that's propelled them, which begins with Amanda Osterhus's 1.94 ERA, 151 strikeouts and .186 opponent batting average over 93.2 innings of work. Osterhus ranks third among NCAA Division III players in strikeouts per seven innings (11.3), fifth in shutouts (6) and ninth in strikeouts (151).

Sam Berghoff commands the Titans sluggers with a .527 batting average, 14 doubles and seven home runs. Seven other Illinois Wesleyan sluggers own a .300+ batting average, paving the way for their CCIW-leading .344 mark as a team. Ally Wiegland commands the pitching staff with a 1.50 ERA, a 10-2 win-loss record, 117 strikeouts and a .163 batting average over 70.0 innings of work. She leads NCAA Division III with 0.23 walks allowed per seven innings, and ranks second with 11.8 strikeouts per seven innings.
