NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Carthage College Red Men won their fourth-straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match of the spring on Friday evening, defeating the Cardinals of North Central College in Naperville, 7-2.
The win moves the Red Men to 9-9 and to 4-1 in the CCIW, while the Cardinals fall to 7-13 on the year and to 2-3 in the conference.
Carthage opened the day with a pair of wins in doubles to jump out to a 2-1 lead.
Herman Abban and
Daniel Moore took number one doubles, while
John Nykyforuk and
Matt Krzewinski topped the Cardinals in number three doubles.
In singles, Abban, Moore and Nykyforuk picked up wins to complete perfect days and
Lukasz Jaworski and
Oscar Irazoque won their respective matches to seal the win for the Red Men.
