Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. – The Carthage College Lady Reds dropped their second straight game on Thursday, falling at Centre College, 19-7.
The loss sends the Lady Reds to 4-2 on the season, while Centre improves to 4-1 in 2018.
The Lady Reds played from behind most of the game as the Colonels controlled the draw circle, 18-9, forced the Lady Reds into 32 turnovers and were more efficient in clears, 16-for-35 for the Lady Reds to 17-for-18 for Centre. Additionally, the Colonels out shot Carthage 50-25 and 39-18 on goal.
Jessie Gibson led Carthage with four goals and four ground balls, followed by
Nicole Bowman with a pair of goals and
Rachel Mussell with one.
Megan McNamara finished with two assists and
Alexa VanOrd had one.
Maggie Allen once again matched the program record with 20 saves in the loss for the Lady Reds, marking the second time in as many games she came under duress in the net.
The Lady Reds will look to snap their two-game skid when they return to Art Keller Field on Wednesday, March 14th to face Aquinas College at 6:00 p.m.
