STERLING, Ill. – The Carthage College women's tennis team dropped their first match of the weekend, falling at the Westwood Tennis Club in Sterling, Illinois to Augustana College, 9-0.
The loss drops Carthage to 3-2 in dual meets this year and to 3-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, while Augustana moves to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the CCIW.
After struggling in doubles competition, getting swept by the Vikings, 3-0, the Lady Reds came closest looked to get their first point in one-singles by
Angelica Emmanouil, however Carthage's lone point was elusive as Caitlyn Schaffer topped Emmanouil in three sets.
