Lady Reds Top Millikin At Smeds On Saturday, 9-0

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds wrapped up their 2018 falls schedule on Saturday afternoon at Smeds Tennis Center, defeating the Millikin University Big Blue, 9-0.
 
Their second-straight blanking of a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin moves the Lady Reds to 6-2 on the year and to 6-2 in the CCIW, while Millikin falls to 3-9 and 1-6 in the CCIW.
 
Playing their final regular season CCIW matches, the senior trio of Angelica Emmanouil, Natalie Favia and Maria Salerno all shined with perfect 2-0 days in the win over the Big Blue.  After winning their respective doubles matches, Angelica, Natalie and Maria won their singles matches in straight sets each.
 
Also going 2-0 on the day were Sam Ramsey and Nia Pham, while Hannah Haeberle won her doubles match with Salerno and Ashley Woods won the six singles match.

The Lady Reds will now turn their attention to the CCIW Fall Championships, which will take place starting next Friday in Moline, Illinois.  The three-day championship will be hosted by Augustana College at the Quad City Tennis Club.
