KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds won their third straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matchup on Friday at Smeds Tennis Center, defeating Carroll University, 9-0.
The win pushed the Lady Reds to 3-1 overall and in the CCIW, while the Pioneers falls to 3-4 and 2-2 in the conference.
The 9-0 win was also their third consecutive blanking of their opponent.
Carthage opened with a sweep in the doubles competition as
Angelica Emmanouil and
Max Mella won 8-5,
Casey Frommer and
Natalie Favia won 8-3, and
Hannah Haeberle and
Lauren Woznicki won 8-1.
Frommer, Emmanouil, Favia and Woznicki were joined by
Maria Salerno in singles with straight set wins over their Pioneer opponents, while
Max Mella completed the sweep on the day with a 10-7 tiebreaker win in number-two singles.

The Lady Reds will take a break from CCIW play for the next 12 days, as they will return to action in Saint Peter, Minnesota at the annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College September 22-24.
