ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Carthage College women's tennis team's season came to an end on Friday at the 2017 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Automatic Qualifier Tournament, as the Lady Reds fell to the Wheaton College Thunder in the semifinals, 5-2.
The loss ends the Lady Reds' season at 14-7 after a third place regular season finish at 6-2.
Carthage opened the day with a pair of wins in the doubles competition with win in one-doubles by
Angelica Emmanouil and
Casey Frommer, and
Kristen Kalinka and
Max Mella in the two-doubles.
However, the Thunder responded with four wins to open the singles competition, to take the match with a 5-2 decision. The final two matches went unfinished.
