KENOSHA, WIS.—Wheaton College, Carroll University, and Ripon College are all scheduled to play the Lady Reds softball team (14-8, 5-1 CCIW) this week in Kenosha. Carthage enters the first series against Wheaton on a five-game winning streak after sweeping North Park University and Augustana College in doubleheaders.

The Lady Reds bring an average of 4.00 runs per game going into their first game on Tuesday while giving up an average of 3.27 runs per game. Senior
Kristine Herdegen leads the team with 14 runs batted in.

Amy Goldsmith lead the team on the mound with 58.2 and 53.1 innings, respectively.

The Wheaton Thunder softball team will enter Tuesday's game after splitting a doubleheader  with North Park University on Friday, April 7, marking their first win in CCIW play this season. Wheaton also dropped a doubleheader versus Millikin University on April 1.

Kelly Thornton leads the Thunder offense with a .404 batting average (21-52) and 12 runs batted in. Wheaton's pitching staff has an earned run average of 4.07 this season.

Katie East is in her fifth season as the Thunder head coach. Wheaton beat Carthage in two out of their three meetings last year.

The Pioneers will take a four-game winning streak into their game against St. Norbert on Tuesday, April 1. At 5-1, Carroll is tied with Carthage for second place in the CCIW at 5-1. Â

Elaine Anderson has been leading her team with an impressive .444 batting average (12-27) entering Tuesday. Amanda Osterhus (2.02 ERA), Lexy Kemnitzer (2.93 ERA), and Hannah Miller (3.60 ERA) have all shared the mound fairly equally so far this season.

Amy Gradecki is in her ninth season as the head softball coach for the Pioneers. Last year the Pioneers split with the Lady Reds in their sole doubleheader matchup.
About Ripon College (6-14, 2-4 MWC)

The Ripon College Red Hawks will take a two-game losing streak into their next matchup versus Lawrence University on Wednesday, April 12, before their doubleheader on Friday versus the Carthage Lady Reds.

Melanie Kobeit is currently leading Ripon with four home runs and nine runs batted in. The Red Hawks have relied on the arm of Lexi Reetz (84.2 IP, 1.49 ERA) to carry the team on the mound this season.

Brooke Kalman is in her first year as the Red Hawks head softball coach. The Lady Reds swept Ripon in their sole doubleheader matchup last year.
