KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College softball team (6-6, 0-0 CCIW) will open their home schedule on Tuesday, March 28 against Wisconsin Lutheran College (DH) at 3:00 p.m. The Lady Reds will host St. Norbert College (DH) on Wednesday, March 29 at 3:00 p.m. before they open CCIW play at Elmhurst College on Saturday, April 1 at 12:00 p.m.

The Lady Reds are fresh off a 4-6 stint in Florida that included victories over Allegheny College (1-0), D'Youville College (7-2), Grinnell College (6-2) and Hendrix College (5-4). Pitcher
Amy Goldsmith landed CCIW Pitcher of the Week on March 20 for her efforts throughout Carthage's first six games of the trip. She paces the Lady Reds pitching staff with a 1.11 ERA over 25.1 innings of work this season.
Kayla Uhwat-Vicicondi (.360, 9-for-25) and
Emmily Zinkiewicz (.333, 12-for-36) make up the Carthage .300+ hitters this season.

ABOUT WISCONSIN LUTHERAN COLLEGE (3-7, 0-0 NACC)

The Warriors will face Carthage following a 12-day hiatus from competition after participating in the Rebel Games on March 12-16, where they went 3-7. Wisconsin Lutheran registered victories over St. Scholastica (1-0), Mount St. Mary (4-2) and Utica (9-7) in Kissimmee.Â

Sophomore Abby Mahsem paces the Warriors with a .556 (15-of-27) batting average while Kaitlyn Robinson leads the team with 16 hits (.457 batting average). The Wisconsin Lutheran pitching staff owns a 4.77 ERA and 26 strikeouts through 10 games this season. Six different Warriors have seen time on the pitching rubber this season.

Bill Curtis is in his sixth season as Wisconsin Lutheran head softball coach. The Lady Reds own a 2-2 all-time record against the Warriors. This includes a 12-0 win and a 7-6 loss last season.

ABOUT ST. NORBERT COLLEGE (1-7, 0-0 MWC)

The Green Knights' lone victory this season occurred in an 11-8 decision over Wheaton College (Mass.) on March 16. Leigh Grall paces the St. Norbert College hitters with a .400 batting average (10-of-25). Brianna Breaeger (.375, 12-of-32) rounds out the .300+ Green Knight hitters.

Emma Molenhouse (20.0 IP) and Sydney Pfotenhauer (34.1 IP) have both seen time on the pitching rubber for St. Norbert. Molenhause leads the staff with a 4.90 ERA while Pfotenhauer paces the team with 13 strikeouts this season.

The Lady Reds carry a 6-6 all-time record against the Green Knights. This includes a 4-3 win and a 10-4 loss last season.

ABOUT ELMHURST COLLEGE (8-6, 0-0 CCIW)

The Bluejays opened their season with a 7-5 record in Clermont, Fla. Elmhurst has since defeated UW-Stout 4-1, and fell 9-7 to Concordia University Chicago on March 26. Prior to their bout with Carthage, Elmhurst will face Benedictine on March 28.Â

Bri Getzloff leads the team with a .419 (18-43) batting average while Lauren Rismondo (.366) commands Elmhurst with 11 runs-batted-in and four doubles. Five pitchers have seen time in the circle this season for Elmhurst. The staff has a combined 4.15 ERA and 71 strikeouts over 91.0 innings.

Mike Paulo is in his fifth season as Elmhurst head softball coach. Carthage owns a 46-19 all-time record against the Bluejays, which includes an 8-1 and 16-2 sweep last season.
